Larry Richmond went on trial today for the murder of Evansville firefighter Robert Doerr. A hearing Friday determined that Elizabeth Fox-Doerr, Robert’s widow who was convicted in the murder last year, will testify. Her attorneys asked the court to overturn Fox-Doerr’s subpoena to testify, claiming the defense attorneys acted improperly, bribing her and offering legal assistance if she testified. They were also concerned that Fox-Doerr could incriminate herself on charges dropped in the first trial if her testimony does not match perfectly. The judge denied the motion.
