Wheels up .. wheels down. That was the question for the Evansville City Council last night as members approved a municipal wheel tax for the city.
It passed with just one “no” vote.
The tax only applies to folks within city limits and varies by the type of vehicles.
Drivers will pay $20 a year for cars, SUV’s and standard vehicles … $30 a year for trucks or trailers and $10 a year for motorcycles.
Council members say Evansville will be losing millions of dollars in state funding next year so the wheel tax will allow stable funding for road
