A heavy police presence marked the area of Lincoln and Kerth following a chase involving two people on Tuesday.
Two people were stopped in the vicinity of Lincoln and Kentucky Avenues, but they ran away.
Officers set up a perimeter and surrounded an apartment building, trying to call someone out.
Police said a juvenile tried to get rid of a gun as he fled, but he was caught and the gun was recovered.
