A mosquito has tested positive for the West Nile Virus in Spencer County.
Officials with the Indiana Department of Health say that most people infected with the virus experience no symptoms or only mild, flu-like symptoms.
This can include fever, headache, body aches, joint pain, vomiting, and diarrhea.
Preventing mosquito-borne diseases can be achieved by using insect repellent, wearing protective clothing, and installing screens on windows and doors.
Individuals who suspect they may have West Nile Virus should consult their healthcare provider.
