Vanderburgh County leaders, farmers, vendors, and carnies are ready for the opening of the Vanderburgh County fair today.
Fair attendees should take extra precautions to stay cool and out of the heat.
The 4-H building is a good place to take a break since it is air-conditioned.
There were several events this morning, and the rides open this evening at 5.
The Vanderburgh County Fair queen pageant is also at 5, and the opening ceremony follows at 6:30.
The crossover between US 41 and Old State Road in Evansville is closed during the Vanderburgh County 4-H Fair.
During this time, traffic from Old State Road will only be able to turn south onto US 41.
