Health officials are warning of a Giardia outbreak in Hopkins County.
The parasite can be found in lakes, pools, and streams.
It can also be contracted through unwashed hands that have touched food or other surfaces after using the restroom.
If swallowed, the parasite goes through the intestinal tract, causing diarrhea.
Officials say the outbreak is being tracked, but there is no conclusive evidence of where the infection started.
