The Ohio Township Fire Department was dispatched to the 2500 block of Fuquay Road on Sunday morning for a reported structure fire.
The first arriving engine reported smoke and fire visible from a window on the front of the garage.
The homeowner reported that he woke up to the smoke detectors alarming throughout the residence.
Upon investigating the alarm, he found the garage to be full of smoke and heat.
He quickly shut the door, exited the home, and called 911.
Due to his quick actions, he kept the situation from being much worse and ultimately saved his family’s home.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
