Evansville Fire Department officials confirm that a victim involved in a house fire has died from their injuries.
On March 21, firefighters responded to a reported residential structure fire in the 1500 block of Monroe Avenue.
Upon arrival, crews found the fire had already been extinguished.
An adult male was outside the residence before firefighters’ arrival.
He was treated at the scene for minor burns and transported to a local hospital before being transferred to a burn center in Louisville.
Despite medical treatment, the victim died from his injuries on Monday.
The fire was determined to have started in the kitchen and has been ruled accidental.
