A Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Deputy was sent out to a home in the 6900 block of Hogue Road for a welfare check.
Blake Asher told them that people were controlling his mind.
He also advised that he was home alone, but that he lives there with his sister and her children.
Deputies found multiple animals inside the home, piles of dirty dishes, holes in the ceiling, and other hazards.
When Katrina Long arrived home, deputies learned that Long is the payee on Asher’s Social Security checks but does not give him any of the money.
Long faces several charges, including Neglect of a Dependent and Animal Cruelty.
