In April 2024, the Evansville region was awarded a grant worth 45 million dollars from READI 2.0.
The Regional Economic Acceleration and Development initiative is a statewide program that invests in projects to improve the quality of life and drive economic growth.
$2.7 million will be allocated towards the historic Crawford Door building near Bosse Field.
It will be turned into 139 housing units.
Warrick, Posey, and Gibson Counties were also awarded funding.
