An Illinois man with a prior criminal record has been sentenced in Posey County.
47-year-old Damian Schile will spend the next 17 years in prison after pleading guilty to possession of meth and unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious felon.
On May 26, Schile was pulled over for speeding.
As deputies were having him step out of his vehicle, a tobacco container fell from his pants.
The container opened when it hit the ground, revealing nearly 14 grams of meth.
A 9mm handgun was later retrieved from under the driver’s seat.
