The Vanderburgh County Health Department has seen an increase in West Nile Virus human cases and one death.
Most of the cases reported are from the northern part of the county.
According to the CDC, Vanderburgh County is one of the top 10 counties in the US reporting cases.
The increase is due to the drought-like conditions and warmer weather.
Most people infected with West Nile Virus have no symptoms or only mild flu-like symptoms.
People over 60 with weakened immune systems are at a higher risk.
