The Warrick County Coroner’s Office is reporting a troubling rise in infant deaths linked to unsafe sleep practices.
The county has seen the numbers triple since the beginning of the year.
To reduce risk, families are strongly urged to follow the ABCs of safe sleep:
● Alone – Infants should always sleep alone, not with adults, siblings, or pets.
● Back – Infants should always be placed on their backs to sleep.
● Crib – Infants should sleep in a safety-approved crib, bassinet, or play yard with a firm mattress and fitted sheet, free of pillows, blankets, bumpers, or toys.
