A former par-3 golf course is slated to be converted into a wildlife habitat.
Wesselman Woods made the official announcement on Tuesday about its partnership with Quail Forever Indiana.
The Southwest Indiana Chapter is contributing volunteer hours and the use of its seed drill to plant species native to the area.
Quail Forever president Jeff Owens says the West Meadow project will provide innovative outreach and education.
Seeding will begin soon, putting Wesselman Woods on the path to creating a habitat within city limits.
