The proposal for a new city ordinance defines a tiny home as a single-family dwelling in a unit of 120 to 800 square feet.
Officials say they want to allow the construction of tiny homes in places like mobile home parks and select areas of the Audubon District.
The ordinance requires the homes to be built on a permanent foundation, and they are subject to the same utility and permitting requirements as other homes.
The planning committee will hold a public hearing and vote at its October 7th meeting.
