An outside agency is investigating an incident last week that led to the death of a Vanderburgh County Jail inmate.
The Vanderburgh County Coroner identifies the inmate as 35-year-old Cortney Hartley of Boonville.
Hartley was rushed to the hospital after fashioning a ligature device in the brooking cell and tying it around her neck.
She was removed from life support on Friday.
