Evansville police warn those using Electronic Benefit Transfer, or EBT cards, that there are reports of information and benefits being stolen.
The warning says the EBT cards are at risk of having information stolen because of card skimmers.
Those are devices that are laid over the top of traditional payment terminals.
Data from your card is read when you swipe the magnetic strip.
EPD says it’s safest to lock your card when you’re not using it.
