An Evansville man was arrested on charges related to the detonation of an explosive near INDOT workers.
It happened on a residential street adjacent to the Lloyd Expressway on the west side.
One worker felt an object she described as a fireball hit her and bounce away.
Two other workers were in a vehicle and said the car was shaken violently.
Shortly after, 42-year-old Joshua Messic spoke with workers and admitted to detonating the sparkler bomb because he was tired of the noise.
A neighbor told detectives that Messic was constantly blowing things up, making the walls of his home shake.
No one was hurt in the blast.
