An Evansville man is in the Vanderburgh County Jail, accused of leaving two dogs in a parked truck in the extreme heat.
Police were called to the intersection of Jefferson and Kentucky Avenue Monday afternoon for an investigation.
Officers found a husky inside a truck that was not running, as well as another dog in a cage in the truck bed.
The dogs had no water to drink or food to eat.
The internal temperature of the truck was 128 degrees.
Both dogs were taken to the vet and diagnosed with heat stroke.
34-year-old James Essary is charged with Animal Cruelty.
