Four people are in jail on animal cruelty charges.
Animal Control staff spoke with the Evansville Police, stating that someone had brought in two dogs.
One reportedly suffocated after its head was stuck in a container.
The other dog was emaciated and was euthanized.
Officers arrived at the home of one of the dogs and found it smelling of waste.
Other dogs and some cats in various conditions were removed from the home.
Arrested: 56-year-old Timothy Jay Martin, 60-year-old Shirley Ann Martin, 40-year-old Sheila Marie Jones, and 53-year-old Joshua Burke Binkley, all of Evansville.
