The City of Henderson has joined Habitat for Humanity to combat blighted properties with the hopes of expanding affordable housing.
The Blight Elimination Program will see a $1 million investment over its five-year collaboration.
The partnership is a direct outcome of the city’s Inner City Improvement Plan.
The mission is to acquire and manage distressed or vacant properties and create new opportunities for affordable homeownership.
The city will contribute $100,000 annually for blighted properties.
