New details about the fatal shooting that left three people dead in Haubstadt a few weeks ago.
77-year-old Patrick Waite, who was arrested and charged with murder, has filed a complaint alleging elder abuse against his deceased wife’s family and her heirs.
Patrick met Alma on an online dating service, and she moved into his home just weeks later.
When they got married around 5 months after meeting, none of his children knew about it until the next day.
His wife pressured him into allowing her family to move into his home.
Patrick did not know his wife’s family was allegedly involved in criminal gangs, including ties to the Sinaloa Cartel.
Alma blocked Patrick’s children and grandchildren on his phone after his daughter tried to warn him that Alma was a “con.”
Patrick saw her sons commit violent assaults, physically abuse children, and make violent threats – including threats against his own life.
His wife pressured him to amend the deed to the home to add her name to it.
On April 1 of last year, Patrick signed a document prepared by Alma that he believed put both of their names on the deed.
What he signed removed his name from the deed, relinquishing his family home of 26 years.
She then transferred the deed to her daughter.
Less than 24 hours before Alma’s death, the home was placed for sale on a cash-only basis.
Alma’s daughter has been ordered to appear in court next week for this complaint.
