The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two separate animal neglect cases.
Animal control officers found 49 cats covered in fleas in a home off Highway 56.
The residence was covered with animal feces and urine.
Some of the cats were near death due to the lack of food and water.
In another case, 22 large dogs were found living in a home on Sycamore Street.
Authorities say the conditions were unsanitary and not enough space.
A criminal summons was issued to the homeowners from a previous animal cruelty case investigation.
