The “Click It or Ticket” Campaign kicks off today in Kentucky.
It’s a reminder to buckle up and properly secure children in car or booster seats.
According to the Kentucky Office of Highway Safety, of the 707 roadway deaths last year, 471 were killed in motor vehicle crashes.
Forty-seven percent of them were either not wearing a seatbelt or not properly restrained in a car or booster seat.
Governor Andy Beshear says, “It only takes two seconds to fasten your seatbelt, and those two seconds could save your life”.
The campaign runs through June 1.
