An attempt to stop a reckless driver in Chandler turned out to be a multi-county car chase.
The driver, 31-year-old Nina Devillez of Santa Claus, crashed his vehicle into a ditch on Heim Road.
The suspect, who was wearing a motorcycle helmet, got out of his car, waving a sword toward an officer.
The officer discharged his firearm, striking the suspect at least once.
Devillez then drove away in the officer’s patrol car, reaching speeds of 120 mph.
Once the suspect entered Kentucky on US 60, he crashed into an open field and then fled on foot.
He was tased and taken into custody.
The suspect was transported to Owensboro Hospital and is currently being treated for his injuries.
