Kentucky Health officials have confirmed a measles case in an adult who recently traveled internationally.
The resident attended a fitness center in Frankfort, Kentucky on February 17 while infectious.
Authorities are working to identify and contact those who may have been exposed.
Measles is a highly contagious respiratory virus that can cause serious health complications, especially in young children.
Earlier this week an unvaccinated school-aged child died in Texas from the disease.
This was the first reported measles death in the U.S. in a decade.
