The town council of Winslow has approved a 45 percent hike in water rates Monday night.
The vote was unanimous.
Winslow buys its water from a third party in an agreement that dates back to 2017.
That supplier is raising its rates to the town.
Council president Joni Stafford says there hasn’t been a rate increase since 2013, so this one was needed.
