An animal cruelty case has gotten the attention of Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry.
The woman charged in the case, Laquita Clark, was in court yesterday.
She was ordered not to possess any vertebrae animals.
Last month, more than 50 dogs were taken from Clark’s South Elliott Street home.
Officials say the floors were covered in urine and feces.
Mayor Terry has scheduled a town hall meeting to address issues related to animal care and overcrowded shelters.
It will be held on Wednesday, January 15 from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm at The CK Newsome Center.
