It happens with the winter solstice when the sun – as it sets on the horizon – is in perfect alignment with the mounds at Angel Mounds.
It’s believed the mounds were built to align with celestial events like the solstice .
You can witness it this Friday as the Indiana State Museum hosts the Winter Solstice Alignment event at the Angel Mounds State Historic Site.
Starts Friday afternoon at 2:45.
Tickets costs from three to five dollars and can be purchased at the Indiana State Museum’s website.
