Three years ago today, a devastating tornado tore through Western Kentucky, leaving behind destruction and lost lives.
On Monday Governor Andy Beshear announced the renewal of a three-year agreement with AmeriCorps for disaster assistance.
The agreement provides more helping hands to rebuild homes and work food and clothing donation sites.
In the aftermath of the Western Kentucky tornados AmeriCorp teams collected and distributed over 8,700 gallons of water, sorted 34,000 pounds of donations, and cleared nearly 20 miles of existing trails.
