The winner of the West Side Nut Club Half-Pot is a former Evansville Fire Captain and City Council member.
Alfred Lindsey is the first winner to step forward publicly.
He wanted to put an end to the rumors about the half pot being illegitimate.
He came forward on Monday to claim the check for one million and thirty five dollars.
Lindsey, a west-side native says he bought $300 worth of tickets and will split it with his two sons.
