First, what a team! 5 years and running for Jill Trautvetter, Hannah Rodocker and Kurt Tillman!
Booth 75 Vanderburgh Humane Society – their signature item – Fried Green Tomatoes! And they didn’t disappoint! Available with dipping sauces but we went with them straight deep fried to perfection.
Booth 76 Highland Baseball – Last year’s WIKY 2nd Place Best of the Festival Winner for their amazing German Bologna Sandwich with pepper jack and fried egg. This year it’s been upgraded to…The Westsider and now includes all of the above with the addition of Grippos, of course!
Booth 77 Young Life – Aloha Balls. Marinated BBQ meatballs with pineapple. A little taste of the islands on Franklin. Team noted they were very good.
Booth 78 SWIRCA and More – It’s all about their famous cobbler and this year SWIIRCA is featuring a new flavor…lemon!
Booth 79 St Paul’s Lutheran Youth – Chicken and Dumplings. Plenty of chicken and dumplings on Franklin but St Paul’s was the winner of a blind taste test WIKY had years ago of all the C&D on the street. Theirs won hands down and one taste will tell you why. Homemade and tastes like it.
Booth 80 Westside Improvement Association – Westside Sammie. German Bologna, pepper jack and more between hash brown patties. You want over the top? You got it!
Booth 81 – Vanderburgh County Special Olympics – Fried Pickle Chips. In fact, it’s all things pickle at this booth! Excellent service when we were there too by none other than Jeff Lyons, Chief Meteorologist at WFIE-TV!
Booth 82 – Democrat Club of Vanderburgh County – Gyros. Very tasty and not at all politically motivated. Zorba himself would approve!
Booth 84 – Reitz Football and Wrestling. Funnel Cakes and Fries. We tried the Fries. Finger like funnel cakes perfect for the dipping sauces provided. Awesome!
Booth 85 – Christ Gospel Church – Their world famous Apple Dumpling. At the Fall Festival for at least 40 years. All homemade and it tastes like it. One of our team’s favorites this year.
Booth 86 – Chandler United Methodist Church – The Elvis Funnel Cake! Yep. A funnel cake with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and banana slices! It’s a new item for them and a big seller. The King would approve!
Booth 87 The Gathering- Southern Smash Pie. Home made pecan pie with carmel, chocolate syrup and whipped cream all in an easy to carry cup. Decadent and delicious!
Booth 88 – St Wendel Church. Blueberry White Cheddar Panini. New item and one of our teams favorite overall picks of the Fall Festival this year. Absolutely worth a try!
Booth 89 – Church of Jesus Christ Youth Programs – Monster Ears. Only ears on Franklin and they never disappoint!
Booth 90 – Mater Dei Marching Wildcats. The Champ – a huge concoction invented by none other than Jim Griese featuring a tenderloin with 2 jalapeno poppers, 2 chicken fingers and 2 cheese sticks. Yes, together on one sandwich. Easily a 3 pound sandwich. New item this year and most likely the talk of Franklin Street!
Booth 91 Pride of Bosse Marching Band. Jalapeno Corndog with Chili and Cheese. New item this year. Taking the corn dog to another level!
Booth 92 St Philip – Southwest Corn Salsa with Chips. New item and very tasty!
Booth 93 Corpus Christi Boosters – From Azzip, it’s their March Crabness Dip with homemade chips. Jill from our team knew they were featuring this and couldn’t wait to get here and try it! (It’s Azzip’s spin on Crab Rangoon for those not in the know).
Booth 94 AM Vets – The world famous Ribeye. Always a crowd pleaser and this year was no different.
Booth 95 Golfmoor – The Walk Off Pork Chop. Can it get any more simple? A deep fried pork chop on a stick. Can it get any more tasty? This has been a Best of the Festival Golden Acorn Award winner twice for a reason. It’s amazing.
Booth 96 Warrick County Klowns – Flaming Hot Clown Bar. It’s an unlikely combo of Grippos and marshmallows that’s a sort of Rice Crispy treat from Heck. It’s a new item and worth a try for all Grippos fans!
Booth 97 Evansville Figure Skating Club -Lots of groups deep fry favorite treats at Fall Festival with varying results. The Figure Skating Club does an admirable job with S’mores. We were impressed.
Booth 98 All Saints/ Marion Outreach – Pork and Pineapple Street Taco. Second year for this most excellent dish. Our team was most impressed with the flavor and the freshness. One of our top picks of the day.
Booth 99 Harwood Booster Club – Tenderloin. But not breaded. Grilled with peppers and onions. Quite good.
Booth 100 St Peters Highland Kuchen. From their original cinnamon with the recipe from Germany generations ago to their many fruit flavors, these have been the take home favorites from Fall Festival for years.
Booth 101 Word of His Grace – The “Mickey Mouse” half Oreo, half S’more, all deep fried, natch.
Booth 102 Old North UMC – Catfish Sandwich. Excellent and tasty. Great breading. One of our team’s favorites today.
