Once the new bridge over the Ohio River is finished in 2031, the Twin Bridges as we know them might become an only child.
When the new bridge opens, present plans call for the southbound Twin Bridge to be closed and demolished.
That decision came as part of the deal to get I-69 and the new bridge built.
The present spans are expensive to maintain.
Henderson County Judge Executive Brad Schneider is a voice in a movement to keep both bridges operating.
