An Evansville man is charged with driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident.
Police were called to the intersection of Monroe and Evans Avenues around 12:20 Monday morning for a hit and run.
35-year-old Oscar Velazquez allegedly hit two parked cars and took off running leaving his car and sandals behind.
Officers located the suspect and transported him to the hospital.
Tests show his blood alcohol was three and a half times over the legal limit.
