A Wayne County Illinois judge says NO to an attempt by Ray Tate to withdraw his guilty plea.
Tate has pleaded guilty to the murder of Wayne County deputy Sean Riley and was sentenced to life in prison.
It happened in December of 2021.
Tate has reportedly been working to overturn his guilty plea since shortly after he was sentenced.
In Wednesday’s hearing, the judge ruled Tate hadn’t shown sufficient evidence for withdrawal of his original plea
