An Evansville women’s and children’s shelter has been hit hard by the heat after one of its HVAC units went out.
The House of Bread and Peace has 13 bedrooms and is currently over capacity with 21 women and nine children.
When they asked the public for help Schmitt Refrigeration took a look-see and not only are they replacing the old unit .. they’re donating it and installing it tomorrow.
Monetary donations will be used for maintenance of the facility’s entire HVAC system.
