The Indiana Department of Environmental Management recognized Evansville as the state’s newest Clean Community.
The event took place at the Sunrise Pump Station on Wednesday afternoon.
Mayor Stephanie Terry was presented with a Clean Community flag and a sign.
The mayor is planning more projects to elevate the City’s clean community status.
Future projects include planting 2000 trees, making solar energy more affordable, and building more rain gardens and wetlands.
