An Evansville man went to jail after hitting a woman several times with a vehicle and then attacking her with a knife.
Officers got the call to North Kentucky Avenue about 8:30 Saturday night.
The 9-1-1 caller said John D. Mayer hit her several times with his vehicle and then drove away.
She said the incident was a culmination of an argument.
She said Mayer followed her and hit her car 4 or 5 times.
She then pulled into a driveway where he struck her ear with a knife.
He was arrested shortly after.
