Testimony got underway Tuesday in the trial of an Evansville woman accused in the death of her baby.
The child was just 13 days old.
Prosecutors say Taylor Smith fell asleep and awakened to find baby Wade Wilson beneath her.
It happened on West Oregon Street in June of 2022.
Smith is charged with neglect causing death.
The infant’s father, Timothy Wilson, will go on trial in October.
