The pedestrian walking bridge at highway 41 and Washington Avenue near Bosse High School is almost complete.
Construction began late last year and is a project that has been asked for and discussed for decades.
The intersection is too busy and dangerous to cross, especially for students heading to school.
The installation of the truss is planned for mid-August and will most likely be done overnight.
The bridge is expected to be open for pedestrian use by the end of 2024.
