A Herrin, Illinois man has been charged with murder.
On Saturday Illinois State Police were requested by the Herrin Police Department to investigate a residence in the 3100 block of Weaver Road.
A deceased female victim was located there with multiple gunshot wounds.
38-year-old Tyler Mezo was identified as the shooter and taken into custody.
He is being held at the Williamson County Jail pending his first court appearance.
