A quiet Newburgh neighborhood was disrupted by gunfire Monday evening.
Deputies were called to the 2800 block of Joellen Lane around 6:15.
A witness says he saw a man wearing a ski mask point a gun at another man.
The man was shielding himself with a baby car seat.
The witness claims he heard a shot after the victim lunged at the gunman.
Both men went down behind a car for several minutes before another shot was fired.
The shooter then ran to his car and sped away.
The victim was taken to the hospital.
So far, no arrests have been made in the case.
