A major thoroughfare was closed for several hours following an accident Thursday morning.
Just after 5:00 a commercial vehicle hauling 500 gallons of molten aluminum crashed on northbound I-165 in Daviess County.
After initially anticipating needing at least two days for cleanup, KYTC was able to safely reopen both northbound lanes of the interstate just before 8:00 last night.
The roadway will be fully open all weekend for Owensboro’s ROMP festival, then return next week to resurface the damaged area.
