39-year-old Damien Ritter is facing several charges after authorities say he resisted arrest Tuesday night.
Vanderburgh County deputies say it happened at the west side Home Depot as they were trying to take Ritter into custody for a separate case.
They say Ritter threw a small box and tried to run.
He was caught by a K9, and during the struggle, a deputy received two puncture wounds to his arm.
They say Ritter continued to resist but was eventually placed into handcuffs.
During a search of the area where the box was thrown, deputies say they found three baggies with meth and one with hydrocodone pills.
