A former Jackson County Auditor was arrested after a month-long investigation.
The Indiana State Board of Accounts discovered possible misconduct by then-auditor 44-year-old Staci Eglen of Seymour.
Detectives determined that Eglen altered two invoices for goods and services.
She then submitted the invoices to the Treasurer’s Office for reimbursement.
Eglen allegedly deposited checks totaling $18,000 into her personal bank account.
She is charged with fraud, theft, and official misconduct.
