Vanderburgh County Clerk Carla Hayden is stepping down.
She says people have been harassing her and other members of the election office.
She says the treatment has been going on for three years or so, but has gotten worse recently.
Hayden says the harassment takes the form of phone calls, letters, and personal visits.
Hayden says she is stepping down amid concerns for her safety.
Sheriff Noah Robinson says five people have been banned from the premises.
A caucus will decide a replacement for Hayden.
Ban them? If they are harassing workers, arrest them.
