Mater Dei Supermileage Team Wins First Place In Indianapolis

The Mater Dei High School Supermileage team brings home first place.

Last week the team competed in the Shell Eco-Marathon in Indianapolis.

The team ran their self-built car nicknamed RUDI around the Indianapolis Speedway’s Grand Prix track.

After three runs they achieved an efficiency of 120.4 miles per kilowatt hour of energy.

The team’s internal combustion engine prototype car “COSMO” also competed, achieving an impressive 1678.3 miles per gallon.

Almost every car has been named after a Jetsons Character, such as George, Elroy, and Astro.
