Mt. Vernon Police were involved in an early morning chase on Monday.
Around 1:45 an officer spotted a motorcycle without a license plate heading west on State Road 62.
40-year-old Amplis Southard from Ridgeway, Illinois wouldn’t pull over, and would slam on his brakes then speed off reaching 100 mph at times.
He eventually lost control when he went into the grass trying to turn around.
The motorcycle was stolen out of Vanderburgh County.
Southard is in the Posey County Jail facing several charges.
