If you planned on observing the solar eclipse from the Sunrise Pump Station in Evansville on April 8 you’ll have to find another location.
EWSU determined that the pump station would not be a good place to gather.
Here’s why…the building and upper observation deck are surrounded by security lights that automatically turn on when sunlight dims.
This will make it difficult to see the eclipse.
Public safety is also a concern with the amount of people visiting.
Outdoor public restrooms will remain open from 8 am until 4 pm.
