LST 325 cast off from a Port Arthur Texas dry dock Tuesday morning to begin her homeward voyage.
The ship has been in dry dock for two months having a bottom inspection done, and having her twin brass propellers refurbished along with other necessary repairs.
The ship will take several days to make the trip up the Mississippi and Ohio rivers.
She expects to reach her home port of Evansville on March 27.
